Sadhguru is the founder and head of the Isha Foundation, based in Coimbatore, India. The foundation, established in 1992, operates an ashram and yoga centre that carries out educational and spiritual activities. Sadhguru has been teaching yoga since 1982.

Wishing a speedy and full recovery to Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, said he was deeply concerned on hearing about the emergency brain surgery of the Sadhguru.
Sadhguru suffered multiple bleedings in the brain before being hospitalised due to a severe headache, the statement said. As the situation worsened, he underwent emergency brain surgery to relieve the bleeding in the skull on March 17 at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi.
