IB Security Assistant (Motor Transport) Recruitment 2025, based on the latest official information:

Recruitment Overview

• The Intelligence Bureau (IB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced 455 vacancies for the post of Security Assistant (Motor Transport) across India.
• Online applications opened on 6 September 2025 and will remain open until 28 September 2025.

Vacancy Distribution

• The vacancies are distributed across multiple Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) nationwide—from Agartala, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, to Srinagar, Trivandrum, and more.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must meet all of the following:

1. Educational Qualification: At least 10th pass or equivalent.
2. Age Limit: Between 18 and 27 years as of the closing date (28 Sep 2025), with applicable age relaxations.
3. Driving Credentials:
   • Possess a valid LMV (Motor Car) driving license.
   • Have at least one year of driving experience.
   • Knowledge of motor mechanism—ability to diagnose and remove minor vehicle defects.
4. Domicile: Must hold a domicile certificate for the state/UT applied to.
5. Local Language: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the local language/dialect of the designated SIB region.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Tier I – Computer-Based Test (Objective)

• Total: 100 marks, 1 hour duration. Features negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Sections (20 marks each):
  • General Awareness (incl. current affairs, Indian polity, economy, science, geography, etc.)
  • Quantitative Aptitude (topics like number systems, percentages, interest, time & work, data interpretation, etc.)
  • Logical/Analytical/Reasoning (analogies, coding-decoding, puzzles, blood relations, etc.)
  • English Language (grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, error spotting, para jumbles, etc.)
  • Driving/Transport Rules (traffic signs/signals, vehicle basics, road markings, defensive driving, documents & penalties, first-aid, breakdown protocols, etc.)

Tier II – Practical/Skill Test

• Consists of a driving test and possibly an interview or spoken test in the local language.
• Evaluates real-world driving skills, vehicle handling, minor maintenance knowledge. Often qualifying in nature, with marks around 50 (driving) + 50 (interview) depending on the source.

Salary & Perks

• Pay Scale: Level 3 of the 7th Pay Commission: ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month.
