Educational & Trade Qualifications

- For technical trades (e.g., Carpenter, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Pump Operator, Upholsterer):
- 2‑year ITI certificate in relevant/similar trade OR
- 1‑year ITI certificate with at least 1 year experience
- For non-technical trades (e.g., Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper, Khoji/Syce):
- Matriculation + proficiency in the trade
- Must qualify a trade test conducted by BSF
Physical & Medical Standards
- Physical Measurement Test (PST):
- Male: Height: 165 cm; Chest: 75–80 cm
- For SC/ST and certain regional categories: Slight relaxations applicable
- Female: Height: 155 cm (Chest not applicable)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: 5 km run in 24 minutes
- Female: 1.6 km run in 8 minutes 30 seconds
- Medical Standards:
- Visual: Better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/9 (no distance vision correction allowed)
- Near vision N6 (better eye), N9 (worse eye) with correction
- CP‑IV standard color vision; binocular vision required
