• The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released a notification for recruiting 1,253 Assistant Professors to serve in Government Degree Colleges across Uttar Pradesh.

Vacancy Details: Subject-Wise Breakdown

The vacancies span across 28 different subjects, with the total tally of 1,253 posts. A few key subject allocations include:

• Botany – 79
• Chemistry – 87
• Commerce – 157
• English – 92
• Mathematics – 79
• Zoology – 79

All stages — registration, submission, fee payment, and corrections — are conducted exclusively online via the official UPPSC portal.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:
  • A Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
  • Must have cleared UGC-NET/CSIR-NET or hold a Ph.D. in line with UGC regulations (2009 or 2016).
• Age Limit (as of 1 July 2025):
  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 40 years
  • Relaxations applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PWD, Ex-Servicemen, and other categories as per UP Government rules.

Application Fee Structure

• Unreserved / OBC / EWS: ₹125 (with ₹100 exam fee + ₹25 processing fee)
• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen: ₹65 (₹40 exam fee + ₹25 processing)
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹25 only

Application Process (Online-Only)

1. One-Time Registration (OTR): Register on the UPPSC portal to obtain your unique OTR ID and password.
2. Login & Apply: Use OTR credentials to access the application for Advt No. A-7/E-1/2025 – Assistant Professor (Govt Degree College Exam-2025).
3. Form Filling: Provide educational details, personal data, and upload scanned copies of photo, signature, and required certificates.
4. Pay Fee: Submit the appropriate application fee using online methods like net banking, UPI, debit/credit card.
5. Final Submission & Print: Submit the completed form and download a copy for future reference.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

• The process includes a Written Examination followed by an Interview. Some reports indicate a 75% weightage for the written test and 25% for the interview, reflecting UPPSC’s push for fairness and transparency.
• A separate report suggests a three-tiered model: Preliminary (screening) → Main (descriptive) → Interview, to ensure rigorous evaluation. This aligns with precedents and broader UPPSC reforms.
