📝 Job Description & Recruitment Overview

• The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) is recruiting 35,726 Assistant Teachers through the 2025 State Level Selection Test (SLST)
  • Secondary (Classes IX–X): 23,212 vacancies
  • Higher Secondary (Classes XI–XII): 12,514 vacancies
• Educational Qualifications:
  • For Classes IX & X: Graduation or Post‑Graduation (≥ 50%) plus B.Ed., or a 4‑year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed degree from NCTE‑recognized institutions
  • For Classes XI & XII: Must hold Post‑Graduation (≥ 50%) and B.Ed., or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed [NCTE‑recognized]
• Age Limit (as on 1 January 2025):
  21 to 40 years (with relaxations for SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; PH – 8 years)
• Selection Process (Total 100 marks):
  • Written Test (OMR‑based) – 60 marks
  • Academic Record – 10 marks
  • Teaching Experience – 10 marks
  • Oral Interview – 10 marks
  • Lecture Demonstration – 10 marks

  For teaching experience, marks accrue at 2 per year, up to 10; OMR sheets and answer keys will be released transparently for review/dispute.

• Application Fee:
  • General / OBC candidates: ₹ 500
  • SC / ST / PH candidates: ₹ 200
• Pay Scale: Basic pay plus allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) with salary range approximately ₹ 35,000–65,000/month depending on level and experience
