📝 SSC Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination – Overview

The SSC CHSL (Staff Selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary Level) exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted to recruit candidates for various Group C posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. It is open to candidates who have completed their Class 12 (10+2) education.

📌 Purpose of the Exam

To recruit eligible 12th-pass candidates for the following posts:

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
• Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
• Postal Assistant (PA) / Sorting Assistant (SA)
• Data Entry Operator (DEO)
• DEO Grade ‘A’ (in CAG offices and other departments)

📚 Eligibility Criteria

🔹 Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed 12th standard (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
• For DEO (CAG/Comptroller and Auditor General Office) – Candidates must have Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

🔹 Age Limit:

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 27 years
• Age relaxation applies to SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, etc.

📖 Exam Pattern

✅ Tier I: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• Mode: Online
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Sections:

• Negative Marking: 0.50 for each wrong answer

✍️ Tier II: Descriptive Paper

• Mode: Pen & paper
• Type: Essay and Letter/Application writing
• Marks: 100
• Duration: 1 hour
• Language: English or Hindi

💻 Tier III: Skill/Typing Test

• For DEO: Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions/hour
• For LDC/JSA: Typing speed of 35 wpm (English) or 30 wpm (Hindi)
